The Ghana highway authority has announced a new traffic management plan following the ongoing construction works on the Accra-Tema motorway and expansion project.
In a statement issued by the public affair division on 5th march, 2026, it stated that, the arrangement is important to facilitate the installation of structural bridge beam for the expansion of the Tetteh Quarshie interchange bridge (N1).
According to the statement, during the works, the N4 Northbound Carriageway (Accra–Madina direction) will be temporarily closed. Traffic in both directions will be accommodated on the Southbound Carriageway (Madina–Accra direction), which will operate as two (2) lanes each way.
It further added that the traffic adjustment will begin on Monday 9th march, 2026, and expected to last for a period of four month.
The High Authority calls on motorists to exercise caution, observe all traffic sigh and cooperate with traffic management official throughout the duration of the work.
