24hr market projects to commence as President cuts sod.

The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has officially broken ground for the construction of 24-hour market project at Dormaa Ahenkro.

Addressing the gathering, the President said that the 24-hour market project will have facilities like banking service, cold store unit, daycare centers, police station, fire post, clinic and other essential amenities.

According to the President, the 24-hour market project will be replicated in all 261 districts nationwide.

The Government officially lunch the 24-hour economy program on July 2, 2025, aimed at transforming the nation into a round-the-clock, production-led economy. The policy focuses on boosting job creation and productivity through shift systems in key sectors like agriculture, manufacturing, and transport. 

About Gh¢110 million has been allocated in 2026 budget as part of the effort to boost productivity, export and job creation.
