The Oyarifa Police command has arrested a 40 year old man suspected to have sexually abuse a nine year old girl.
In a statement signed by the head of public affairs, Supt. Juliana Obeng, the suspect, Pastor Paul Kofi Annan of Gospel Breed International Ministry and a carpenter was arrested on March 17, following a complaint lodged by the victim’s mother.
It continued that preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect, who is the stepfather of the victim had been in a domestic relationship with the complainant since 2023 and formally married her on February,2026.
The victim is reported to have disclosed to her grandfather during a visit to Cape Coast that the suspects subjected her to repeated sexual abuse over a period of three years , including forcibly having sexual with her and engaging in other acts of sexual misconduct whenever the complainant was not at home” it stated.
According to the statement, further investigation revealed that the suspect attempted the silent the victim with threats to take her life should anyone know about the incidents.
It added that the suspect has been apprehended, cautioned and is currently is police custody, assisting with investigations.
The Police further assures the public of it commitment to protecting children , urging parents and guardians to swiftly report any suspected sexual abuse to the police .
