The New Patriotic Party has criticized government for failing to sustain the economy gains and translate that recovery into improved living conditions for citizens.
At a press conference held on March 24, 2026, at the NPP party head office, the Director of communication for NPP, Richard Ahiagbah, said that the promises made by President Mahama when in opposition does not reflect the living conditions of Ghanaians.
He indicated that there is a downturn in crucial sectors such as cocoa, employment, labor relation, youth among others, laying bare the contradiction between the NDC’s campaign rhetoric and its performance in office.
Mr Ahiagbah continued that the government has failed to build on the economic recovery it inherited from the previous administration and has reversed the hard-earned achievement by Akuffo Addo-Bawumia administration.
“Government should be measured by its impact on citizen’ welfare, not just macroeconomic stability. By this measure, the Mahama administration is failing”, he said.
