Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority, in collaboration with the Motor Traffic and Transport Department of the Ghana Police Service is set clamp down on users of 2025 DV plates and expired DP stickers from today March 24, 2026.

In a statement released by the authority, it stated that the authority extended the use of 2025 DV plate and Dp sticker following challenges it’s earlier faced in the roll out of the new vehicle license plate.

According to the authority, following the issuance of 2026 DV plates to moter traders, fleet owners, and licensed trade dealers, the continuous use of the 2025 plates DP stickers is expired.

It also indicated that the use of DV plate is clearly spelt out in under Regulation 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation, 2012 (LI 2180).

However, the authority continued that owners of vehicles that do not fall under any of the categories provided are required to register those vehicles before they can be used.

The authority further encourages vehicles owners with 2025 DV plates to comply with the road traffic laws to avoid legal action, noting that all operational offices have started registration of 2026 DV plates since January 2, 2026.
