Fake DV plates manufactures and distributors arrested.

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), in collaboration with operation with National Security, has arrested five suspects allegedly involved in producing and distributing fake DV plates nationwide.

In a statement released by the authority on Tuesday March 10, 2026, the five suspects were apprehended at Lapz , Narhman, Tarkwa and are currently in police custody.

According to the statement, the suspects have been arraigned before a court, remanded into custody, and are expected to reappear on March 17, 2026, while two other suspects linked to the intelligence are still on the run.

It also stated the DV plates released and distributed by the cartel are issued together with fake motor insurance document, creating the impression of authenticity of the plates.

The authority therefore calls on the general public to be cautious on circulation of fake DV plate in the country.
