The Ministry of Finance has authorized financial clearance to the Ministry of Health for the payment of salaries and allowances of about 14,279 rotational nurses and 637 dental house officers.
According to the statement, the endorsement falls in line with continuous interaction between the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Finance to ensure that newly trained health professionals are supported while they go through their required service and professional training.
The Ministry continued that the approval covers important nursing units, which include Registered General Nursing, Registered Midwives, Registered Mental Health Nurses, Registered Community Nurses and Registered Public Health Nurses who started their service last year and are due to complete this year.
It also indicated that financial clearance has been granted to settle the salaries of 637 Medical and Dental House Officers, adding that these officers have graduated from both private and public institutions.
Noting that these officers have successfully passed their Medical and Dental council examination and were inducted into the service on 12th November 2025.
Officials said that the financial clearance will help clear years of unsettled arrears and will set out policy to pay allowances of mandatory health professional cadres every month.
