Members of the Ghana Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), under Public Workers’ Union (PSWU) have declared an indefinite strike action set to begin today March 24, 2026.
In a letter addressed to the Director General TVET Service, the union directed all its members to suspend their service until management take “concrete and satisfactory steps” to address a litany of concerns affecting staff welfare and career progression.
According to the letter, signed by the Divisional IMC Secretary, Seth Botchwey on behave of the GTVET-PSWU Division, it accused management of failing to engage its members in addressing their concern.
The union reaffirmed it commitment in returning to the negotiation table if their concerns are treated with urgency while urging member to comply strictly with the directive.
It further called on its member to be calm, discipline and adherence to the law throughout the strike action.
Lingering concerns of the union
most important issue resulting in the industrial action has to with unpaid promotional arears, delay in promotion, proper placement of qualified staff in appropriate ranks.
Other concerns includes non payment of acting and responsibility allowance for the other officers serving in higher roles and many other concerns raised by the union.
