The Inspector-General of Police Mr. Christian Tetteh-Yohuno, has instructed the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) to begin a probe into the incident involving the assault of Artist Ibrahim Mahama in Tamale.
The directive follows earlier report of IGP’s Special Operation Team, alleged to have physically assaulted civilians after a failed attempt to clear the road to pass, which later resulted in the alleged assault on Mr. Ibrahim Mahama.
Police in the Northern Region launched investigation into the alleged assault and dismissed reports linking the police to the incidence.
According to police post on Facebook, the PPSB investigation will be conducted alongside the criminal investigation currently ongoing by the Northern Regional command.
It further assured the public of transparency after both investigations are completed.
