First lady of the republic of Ghana Lordina Mahama has handed over a renovated and fully equipped Anyima health center to residents of Kintampo south district in the Bono East region to enhance access to quality healthcare.
After calls from local authority for a facelift of the health facility, the Lordina Foundation stepped in to renovate the facility, upgrading its maternal, emergency and outpatient department to serve over 3000 residents in the district.

Lordina Foundation is known for its support for underprivileged aimed at promoting quality education, health and overall welfare.
Speaking at the event on March 15, 2026, the first lady added her voice to the growing concern of Ghana’s maternal and infants’ mortality indicating that maternal mortality remains at 300 deaths per 100,000 live births while infant stands about 32 deaths per 1,000 live births.

“Behind these numbers are mothers, daughters, sisters and precious children whose lives could be saved with timely access to quality healthcare facilities and skilled birth attendants”, she stated.
Her Excellency also disclosed that preparation are close for the lunch of government’s primary health care policy of which patients at Anyima health centre would benefit as well.
