The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has announced that electricity and water tariffs will be reduced by 4.81% and 3.06% respectively, effective April 1, 2026.
In a statement dated March 13, 2026, the commission explained that the adjustment follows its mandate to periodically review tariffs to reflect developments within the quarter.
It added that the review takes into account factors such as the exchange rate, domestic inflation, electricity generation costs, and fuel prices to power the thermal plants.
The commission indicated that the adjustment is aimed at preserving the real value of tariffs to ensure service providers remain financially viable to deliver quality services to consumers.
