The Akosombo Divisional Police command has arrested three suspects for hoarding 105 bundles of $100 dollars notes, reported to have been kept in a student’s trunk at Larsi, Odumasi-Krobo in the eastern region.
In a statement released on March 16, 2026, the suspects are Ebenezer Narh-Tsu aged 20, George Attor aged 40 and Bishorp Robert Olertey aged 54 were arrested on mach 11, 2026 through an intelligence-led operation by the Odumase-Krobo district police at their hideout at Larsi.
It continued that Bishop Robert Ollertey, one of the suspects is alleged to have offered a bribe of Ghs 20,000 to the arresting officer who declined the offer and proceeded to them, handing them over to the Akosomo Divisional CID for investigation.
According to the statement, Ebenezer Narh-Tsu one of the suspects was arraigned before court on March 13,2026 on the charge of notice detention but was granted bail in a sum of Ghs 100,000.00 with two sureties to report to the police every Monday for two weeks to assist in investigation.
“The two other suspects have also been granted police enquiry bail while investigation continues”, it stated.
The police further advice the public to be watchful against counterfeit currencies to avoid financial loss.
